Sacred Stone Camp (Oceti Sakowin), Cannonball River, Fall 2016
-Elementary Age Students, Defenders of Water School -In this experience, I taught a lesson with another student from the University of Mary. We read a book about Native American culture. -During this experience, I was also able to experience a water ceremony where we walked the main road and chanted "mni wichoni." Then when we got to the river we threw in tobacco and poured water into the river. -On a different trip to this camp, I helped dig out materials from the snow to build a yurt. |
